About Transition Stage Company

Transition Stage Company

Transition Stage Company is a production and events company that champions diversity and regional inclusivity by providing a platform for filmmakers, writers and actors in the West Midlands to showcase their skills.

It was founded in New York in 2012 by Natalie Edwards, under the mentorship of the late Ron Tippe, the award-winning producer of Space Jam.

The company was relaunched in Birmingham in 2017, thanks to assistance from the NatWest entrepreneurial accelerator. In the same year, the Transition Stage The company put on the successful pilot of the Enter Stage Write contest.

Transition Stage Company creates prestigious events and competitions for exceptional and potentially marginalised creatives to be seen and celebrated by industry professionals.

Past sponsors include Birmingham Film Festival, Vectus and Hollywood Monster.

“Having attended both Enter Stage Write events, I love the format and more importantly What they are doing for the industry - giving people a platform to perform - much like what we are trying to do at the Birmingham Film Festival. We will continue to support this event in future years.”

Dean Williams, CEO, Birmingham Film Festival
